CHARACTER SYNOPSIS
WRESTLING STYLE:
Power/Brawler/Hardcore. His offensive attack visually looks like a hybrid of Mike Awesome, Randy Savage, Rick Steiner and Jimmy Havoc. He is all fight, all the time, coming forward at all times to devastate you with a wave of attacks. He'll suplex you on your neck, crush you with a powerbomb and punch your lights out all in the same match. He is also very versed in the hardcore arts, building a long and storied reputation in the deathmatch world. As such he is skilled at producing chilling displays of violence with all manner of weapons.
CHARACTER ANALYSIS:
-- Creates a visually intimidating style mixing visuals from sci-fi and horror movies with deathmatch wrestling. Former mental patient.
STRENGTHS: (minimum of 1, maximum of 3)
-- Survival Instinct - No matter what, Erik Holland just won't stop fighting. If you knock him down he'll swing at you laying on his back, on his stomach, on his knees, whatever. He will go everywhere and fight you anywhere, in any way that he has to.
-- Been There, Done That - Erik Holland has been in massive main events all over the world against arguably the most elite of competition. While he hasnt always come out on the winning end, that experience against world class opposition has lent him to never be able to be rattled in the face of a massive main event match. The lights never shine too brightly on Erik Holland.
-- Keep Your Circle Tight - Holland really only has a handful of people he trusts. His Badd Breed, a multipromotional stable consisting of his tight knit friends and allies; and his girlfriend/manager Lyal "Lyric" Allen. Aside that, Holland doesn't count many as trustworthy and likes it that way.
FLAWS: (minimum of 1, maximum of 3)
-- Shit-Stirrer - Holland has a reputation for starting trouble. Unintentionally or intentionally, it always seems to be because of or indirectly involving him that something gets touched off.
--Withdrawn - As much as it's a strength that Holland has a small, tight circle, it's also a flaw. Holland is not an outwardly friendly person to people he doesn't already trust.
--Disturbed Showing some or a few signs or symptoms of mental or emotional illness. Confused, disordered, neurotic, troubled. While he's largely okay now, Erik is always going to be mentally ill and that can manifest itself in a variety of ways, most notably in the ring by overwhelming risk taking.
RELATIONSHIPS:
-- Lyal "Lyric" Allen - Girlfriend, Manager of Record
ENTRANCE THEME:
Solway Firth by Slipknot
ENTRANCE DESCRIPTION:
The lights die in the arena as we begin to hear strange grinding and squeaking noises as if we're trying to watch 8mm film on Blu-Ray. Something just not working in a human or proper way. A light kicks up from underneath the stage. As the first part kicks in with Corey singing "Today...upon this hill...I'm counting all the killers..." the lights begin to flash everywhere, in a chaotic fashion in a variety of colors.
Suddenly, the music gets HEAVY at 0:58 and we can see the small but lithe form of Lyal "Lyric" Allen rising to her feet in the midst of a wall of smoke that totally envelops her five foot frame. The light from below allows us just to see her shadow as the drums continue to slam through our skull. The assault stops briefly as Lyric emerges from the smoke finally, looking back at the stage.
The aural rage restarts, and the curtain gets thrown back. The hulking form of Erik Holland comes through the smoke, eyes wide with intensity, his face hidden by the leather entrance mask, his focus solely locked on his manager for a moment as they stop on top of the ramp. She gestures down to the ring, and it's like Holland just erupts becoming a super ball of intensity, bouncing off the crowd left and right as he makes his way down to the ring, whipping them and himself into a barely containable frenzy.
When Lyric and Erik arrive ringside, she stops at the bottom of the ramp to give final instructions, kissing her charge before sending him careening under the bottom rope. He lunges at the referee and/or the ring announcer, ending up sticking his head and upper body through the top and middle ropes, just staring out at the roiling, moshing swarm of fans as if he were an animal that just got let off it's leash. Lyric struts over and undoes his entrance mask, kissing him one more time before allowing him to mug for the camera, spitting threats at his opponent and riling the crowd up even more before he goes to each turnbuckle, acknowledging them with raised arms.
Finally as the chaos comes to a close, Holland falls back against a turnbuckle pad with his ass on the mat, muttering to himself, muttering maybe to no one in particular with a thousand yard stare just locked onto his opponent or the entryway. The lights return to normal as the crowd brings up one last roar, ready for the fight.
