I am going to try and word this as carefully as I can because I have zero intention of making this post come across as bitter or frustrated. Although I can't lie and say those emotions don't exist as I write this, they are not directed towards anyone on my roster past or present. This is instead venting why shows have been delayed, the current state of VANGUARD and how I hope to make it thrive again and get back to the hype it generated before Chapter 1.
I will start by addressing the current state of VANGUARD. I will not sugar coat it; it is not looking good. We have already come to terms with the loss of a few members, some who have been quite vital to the main storylines leading to our championship introductions. Our initial Men's World Championship and Midcard Championship picture have actually been whitewashed because main players in that build have sadly departed. That is a bitter pill to swallow, but the show must go on. And I intend for it to. By no means do I have any ill feeling to the members that have left, I completely understand life comes first and that I haven't instilled a lot of confidence as a head writer after the Chapter 1 delays and now the odd states of Chapters 2 and 3. Along with a loss of those roster members, I also lost a majority of the people who were willing to assist in writing matches. In fact, I had lost all of them. And so, behind the scenes, it has been a one-man operation and it's been very difficult to balance to upkeep the level of quality set on Chapter 1 and trying to improve on it while also working a full-time job and maintaining a social life. This is my first project I have decided to spearhead and perhaps I had jumped into the deep end a little too soon. I was ambitious to start this and after the hype generated I got hooked on it. That hype has seemingly died out, and that also is entirely my fault.
To the roster that has stuck around, I thank you. To those that have left, there are no hard feelings, you are welcomed back when and if you feel like giving this another shot.
Now, Chapters 2 and 3 became a mess, again, because I tried doing too much with very little free time on my hands. I got ambitious and decided 2 5 match cards a month would be manageable. I thought I had a strong enough back-up writers staff to be able to manage it. Again, dead wrong. I was writing out inactive members with these shows to put over the talent I needed for chapters 4 & 5 as we headed into the 'champions crowning' arc. That only caused more inactivity as most of the looming members knew they didn't have to roleplay or do anything for the win. Technically, they were correct. But it also made them look inactive in the process. So, as announced on Twitter, I decided to make Chapter 2 rescheduled to March 5th with the two cards of 2 & 3 merged with matches with entirely inactive people left out, citing the Chapter 1 riot as a reason for their on-screen write off. It was the only way I could think to explain a large gap in the active roster. Hopefully, those written off will understand it was the most respectful way to do it and that they are welcomed back should they choose to,
Heading into the rehashed Chapter 2, I can only say I hope to have learnt from the mistakes up until now and hope I can get this ball rolling again. With the members still here, once again, this isn't possible without you. You're invested in a 22-year-olds ambitious project to present a fun and creative platform, and I thank you for that. Hopefully, with your continued support, we can make that happen.
Thank you, and I love you all.
